I was so excited about Devil in the White City, too! We all were, but nobody seemed to like it. I just could not get into it. Plus my copy had the killer guy’s face ON THE COVER, so I couldn’t read it in bed, or allow it in my bedroom, and I had to leave it face down on the floor when I wasn’t reading it. Yes, I’m weird.

I did have a crush on Olmstead (the landscaping guy), though.

1. Va-jay-jay is my new favorite word.

2. Anything by Bill Bryson is awesome, James Patterson blows ass.

3. The more I thought about Running with Scissors, the more I was incredibly disturbed.

4. Reading Devil in the White City by Erik Larson right now. I’m lovin’ it, but mostly because I lived in Chicago and they even reference a place a block away from where I used to live. I could see how people might not like it, though.

5. For quick, good reads: Into Thin Air by John Krakauer, The Darwin Awards by Wendy Northcutt, and you can never go wrong re-reading awesome classics like To Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby. One of my all time favorites is Siddhartha, by Herman Hesse.

what about A Giants House? when I finished it, I kissed it. I have all of Fanny Flaggs, if you want to go that route, as well as the newest Ann Rule, No Regrets. I have Marley and Me too- havent read it yet though. I still want to read the Corrections, even if the writer is a weenie. I am reading Oh My Stars by Lorna Landvik now, and really love it. Just finsihed Mirror Mirror- pretty interesting, until the end which just sort of, well, ended. Written by the same author as Wicked.

I second the vote for Marley and Me. This book was especially good to me being that I own a nutty dog similar to the one in the book. Also if you have never read the book Wicked, I’m reading it right now and it is a good read.

Oh, we also both burned through Running with Scissors as well. I liked it more than D did, I think, but we both found the family disturbing.

But disturbing families make for a great read, it’s hard to argue that.

And one last thing: how can you possibly talk about seeing a picture of Britney’s hoo-ha on the internets without a link? Bad form.
